The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton today filed an indictment against officials of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, Ekrem Bezdrob and Pašaga Selimović.
They are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of accepting gifts and other benefits, divulging official secrets, and failing to report a criminal offense or perpetrator, the KS Prosecutor's Office announced, as reported by the Patria News Agency.
They are accused that, as officials working as clerks for the execution of criminal sanctions at the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, during the period from the beginning of 2013 to November 24, 2015, they repeatedly demanded and accepted gifts or promised gifts or other benefits from convicted persons and lawyers in order to obtain postponements of prison sentences for these convicts, or the substitution of prison sentences with house arrest with electronic monitoring – a bracelet. Furthermore, they unauthorizedly disclosed information constituting official secrets and failed to report individuals who gave money for the aforementioned services.
The indictment has been forwarded to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo for confirmation, the statement reads.
