Official website of ZDK: Improved accessibility for persons with disabilities

(Patrai) - The official website of Zenica-Doboj Canton (www.zdk.ba) has improved its accessibility for persons with disabilities. The IT Support Department of the Professional Service of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton has integrated an add-on that allows persons with disabilities more options to independently adjust the appearance of the pages for easier navigation and content browsing.

The aforementioned add-on includes, among other things, a text reader configured to read the open article from the title to the end of the published text, and numerous options for browsing textual content are available for various user categories, especially those with sensory disabilities.

- The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton is committed to the inclusion of persons with various forms of disabilities in the most active and equal participation in all segments of society. We want to live inclusion and for every citizen to feel valued, respected, and equal, and this is one of our fundamental guiding principles. We support all constructive ideas and projects that contribute to improving accessibility - said Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.

The upgrade of the official website of Zenica-Doboj Canton was carried out in cooperation with the Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of Zenica-Doboj Canton, which joined the ACTIVE project implemented by "Caritas BiH". The project aims to provide all persons with equal access to information for the purpose of non-discriminatory participation in social processes.

Harun Aliefendić, the president of the Coalition, expressed satisfaction with the fact that the website www.zdk.ba is now available for all categories of persons with disabilities.

- This shows the continuity and commitment of the current Government to serve all citizens, as today these contents are a window into life. We have become part of a team that monitors needs and sets an example for other institutions and public bodies in this canton to follow the same path - said Aliefendić.
