Official vehicles will be distinguished by registration from "regular" ones

The Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH is launching an initiative to amend the Rulebook on Vehicle Registration, which will differentiate official vehicles of administrative bodies from other vehicles, reports the Patria News Agency.

Namely, the performance audit report on the topic of "Fleet Management in BiH Institutions" compiled by the Office of the Auditor General of BiH Institutions examined whether the procurement and use of official vehicles are effectively regulated and organized, whether the use of official vehicles is economical, and whether competent institutions have taken measures that have resulted in more efficient management and reduced costs of official vehicles, and recommendations were given to authorities for improving the situation.

The study showed that by establishing mandatory uniform rules, adequate supervision and monitoring, the procurement and use of official vehicles could be regulated and organized in line with the best practices of developed European countries.

In addition to other measures already taken by the Council of Ministers of BiH and other levels of executive power since the publication of this report to date, in order to further improve, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina will launch an initiative to change the way administrative bodies' vehicles are registered at all levels.

The initiative primarily relates to the special marking of vehicles registered by administrative bodies, where during the registration process of these vehicles, a unique mark would be assigned based on which an official vehicle of an administrative body could be distinguished from other vehicles used in traffic on the roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the relevant ministry.
