Services Available to Citizens: Assistant Mayors Discussed with Citizens of Babića Bašča

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - An municipal "Open Reception of Parties" was held on the multi-purpose square opposite the City Hall, and services were made available to the citizens of the Babića Bašča local community today. Namely, as movement of parties within the municipal building is restricted, and due to the implemented hygiene and epidemiological measures, municipal services will come closer to the citizens through such meetings and discussions that will be held in all sixteen local communities of the Old Town. This way, open communication with citizens is achieved, and they are given the opportunity to resolve some of their problems on the spot.

"This idea is very innovative and shows the understanding of the Municipality of Stari Grad for its citizens in this new situation. I regularly follow the work of the municipal administration, and this is not the only positive thing they are doing together with us citizens. Today, I myself made an initiative, which concerns the opening of a social and youth center in the premises of the Babića Bašča Local Community," said Nermin Bošnjak, a resident of Babića Bašča, who was received by Selma Velić, Assistant Mayor for Local Development and Local Community Affairs, along with her associates.

Esad Bašić, from Magoda street, presented his problems to Adis Hadžović, Assistant Mayor for Investments and Communal Affairs. "I have a specific problem, namely, in the yard of my neighbor, who recently passed away, there is a large pine tree. The house is now empty, neglected, and the pine tree has damaged my house... I hope that the Municipality will also get involved in solving this problem, and that similar situations will not happen to me again," said Esad.

"I have lived my whole life in the area of the Babića Bašča local community, on Čeljigovići street. I heard about this opportunity for citizens to directly contact the heads of municipal services for help without excessive procedures. Honestly, I have never asked for anything from my local community until today. I came to see if there is a possibility of financial assistance for the renovation of my residential building, which would mean a lot to me. Looking back, I cannot recall any state institution ever contacting us citizens in such a direct way," said Senad Mujezinović.

Municipal Mayor mr. Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and the Secretary of the Civil Service mr. Alma Destanović also joined the event today, showing interest in the citizens' problems, as well as in the responses and efficiency of the services that participated in the project. Mayor Hadžibajrić reiterated that the services will be available to the citizens and expressed hope that stable weather conditions will prevail in the coming period so that all local communities can be visited.

"The heads of services – my assistants – will be at the service of the citizens of Kovači on Wednesday, and Vratnik on Friday, by the end of this week. Our goal is to help people as much as we can. I am generally satisfied with the work of the municipal services, but there is always room for improvement. My long-term work at the head of the Municipality of Stari Grad has always been based on direct contact with the citizens of Stari Grad, so this is not an excessive novelty, but merely an adaptation to the new situation," stated Mayor Hadžibajrić.

Just as the mayor announced, a reception for parties is scheduled for Wednesday in Kovači, at the newly built playground in Nadmlini street, and on Friday in Vratnik, on the plateau in front of the DVD "Vratnik".

Party receptions last from 09:00 to 11:00 AM, with adherence to all hygiene and epidemiological measures: distance, masks, hand disinfection...

In addition to the mentioned managers, Aldiana Kavazović, Assistant Mayor for Economy, Amela Kulaglić-Herco, Assistant Mayor for Urbanism, Heni Erdoan Ćesir, Assistant Mayor for General Administration and Inspection Affairs, Safija Šehović, Assistant Mayor for Veteran-Invalid and Social Protection, Almedina Porča, Assistant Mayor for Public Relations and Information System, Lejla Dizdarević, Assistant Mayor for Education, Culture and Sport and by authorization Assistant for Civil Protection, and Adela Plakalo, by authorization Assistant Mayor for Property-Legal, Geodetic Affairs, Cadastre and Housing Affairs, also answered citizens' questions today.
