Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton: Students studying via DL model do not have full-time student status

JU Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton issued a press release explaining why students were removed from the Service's records, Patria reports.

- Implementing the legal provision, and referring to Article 3.b paragraph 1, point p) of the Law on Mediation in Employment and Social Security of Unemployed Persons ("Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", No. 41/01, 22/05 and 9/08) that persons who are full-time students shall cease to be registered as unemployed persons, JU “Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton” during January/February deregistered 33 unemployed persons who were on the lists of full-time students obtained from the faculties of the University of Sarajevo.

For no student was it indicated that they were studying via the DL model (distance learning), who do not have full-time student status.

Based on the opinion received by JU “Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton” from the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, dated November 28, 2016, it is stated that students studying via the DL model (distance learning) do not have full-time student status.

On the lists of full-time students, which the Service receives annually from the faculties of the University of Sarajevo during regular checks of the status of unemployed persons, DL students are also listed as full-time, without indication that they are DL students.

JU “Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton” is obliged to act solely on the basis of valid documents, which are documents issued by the faculty of the University of Sarajevo.
