Long-standing cooperation between the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton and the company Centrotrans Eurolines has enabled a large number of people, primarily young individuals for whom it is a "springboard" for future career development, to complete an internship and gain their first work experience, as well as a chance to become active members of society instead of a number on the bureau's registry, reports the Patria agency.
For the best and most diligent, this company has opened its doors wide, and a significant number of personnel have been employed through active employment measures co-financing employers via public calls "Opportunity for All", "First Work Experience", and the "400+" and "800+" programs.
In the period from 2010 to 2015 alone, 84 people completed their internship at Centrotrans Eurolines, of which 75 were retained after the expiry of contractual obligations, based on their dedication and professional development.
Centrotrans Eurolines states that they are satisfied with the cooperation with the Service, and their intention is to continue using active employment policy programs in the future. The success of this cooperation is evidenced by the stories of young people who have found employment in this company with the support of the Public Institution "Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton".
These are two students who completed three years of practical training at the Centrotrans company during their schooling, and upon completion of the internship, they established an employment relationship through the Program for co-financing the employment of interns with university, college, secondary school, and skilled worker qualifications of the Public Institution "Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton" in 2014.
Haris Hajtić and Salko Hasečić, students of the Vogošća Secondary School Center, majoring in auto mechanics, completed three years of practical training and acquired the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge. As it happened that around the same time their training ended, the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton announced a Public Call for co-financing interns, this company applied with a plan to employ the aforementioned students.
During the three-year internship, the "trainees" demonstrated work discipline, respect for prescribed work-technological regulations, and the company's business culture. They also stood out for their desire to learn and advance.
- I was very lucky because I got the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field I studied at the company Centrotrans Eurolines. During the three-year internship, I acquired all the necessary knowledge, both theoretical and practical, starting from respecting work-technological discipline, which is certainly important for every employee, to the possibility of independently performing tasks and learning from expert staff. Few young people today get the opportunity for employment immediately after finishing school, and I was given that chance at Centrotrans - says Haris Hajtić about his engagement.
Continuing his story, Hajtić points out that the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton announced the Program for co-financing interns precisely during that period, and he was engaged at the company Centrotrans through this program for a period of six months.
- I believe the programs are very effective and give young talents the opportunity to gain their first work experience. Immediately after the end of my internship, my employment contract was extended. My school colleague Salko Hasečić, who also works with me in the same positions, had the same path, so we continued our long-standing friendship from school - says Hajtić.
After all the training and skills they acquired at the company Centrotrans Eurolines, Hasečić and Hajtić feel they have five years of work experience. Given that the company Centrotrans fosters a family and homely spirit and that for a large number of employees, working at this company is their first and last job, they hope their fate will be the same.
At the company Centrotrans Eurolines, they remind that they often encounter situations where many registered candidates do not possess the necessary practical skills to perform the jobs for which they are trained.
- Candidates lack knowledge of performing work operations, using tools and equipment for work, and as such cause difficulties and insufficient productivity at work. The programs of the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton help us get suitable personnel more easily and quickly, which is of crucial importance to us as an employer because our success is primarily due to our employees - state the company Centrotrans Eurolines.
The extent to which cooperation with employers is important for the PI Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton is also evidenced by the fact that recently, on the initiative of management and with the support of the Swiss Government, through the Youth Employment Project, a Center for Employers was established.
The newly established Center of the PI Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton will in the future provide all services to employers in one place, whether it is a free job advertisement, candidate selection according to employer needs, or, as in this case, providing support through active employment measure programs.
