Service for Foreigners' Affairs uncovers illegal migrant accommodation in Ilidža

(Patria) - Inspectors of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs in the municipality of Ilidža, in the settlement of Pejton, Bosanskih gazija street, carried out an inspection of residential buildings that were illegally used for accommodation of migrants.

On that occasion, a total of 50 migrants were found illegally using the said buildings, after which they were transferred to the Blažuj and Ušivak temporary reception centres in accordance with procedures.

Also, members of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs issued a measure of expulsion and placement under supervision in the Immigration Centre in East Sarajevo for a Syrian national, initials A.S., who is linked to the organisation of illegal accommodation of migrants and violation of regulations in the field of the Law on Foreigners.



In addition to the migrants, a larger quantity of travel documents and other documents were found in the premises that were the subject of the inspection, which will, in accordance with legal procedures, be forwarded to the competent authorities for further action.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs will continue to consistently implement measures and activities within its competence in order to prevent the illegal use of residential buildings for accommodation of migrants, thereby contributing to the improvement of security throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
