Information Service Misleads Public: Skaka Elected by 16 Councillors, 12 Absent

Unfortunately, the Information Service of the City Council of Sarajevo has misled the public with a false statement following today's emergency session, writes the Patria News Agency.

Among other things, it was stated that "unanimously, Abdulah Skaka (SDA) was elected Deputy Mayor. For anyone reading this, it appears there were no problems during the election and that the councillors were unanimous.

However, the truth is quite different. After interruptions, breaks, heated discussions, phone calls, and directives issued to councillors from the leadership of certain parties, Abdulah Skaka received 16 out of 28 councillor votes.

The press release did not mention that four councillors from Our Party were absent from the session, nor were councillors Igor Gavrić, Boris Riderle, and Stjepan Kljujić present, and that five councillors, Vedran Dodik, Hasan Hodžić, Edina Latif, Branislava Rakonjac, and Drago Jurić, left the session after the agenda item on electing the deputy mayor was forcefully pushed through.

7 councillors from SDP, five from SDA, two from the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 2 from SBB voted for Skaka. Sending such a false press release is just another piece of evidence of the political games that have been underway in the City Administration for a long time.
