Memic Case: Relatives of Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović Testified, Conflicting Witness Statements!

The continuation of the trial of Ljubo Seferović and his father Bekrija for a serious offense against public traffic safety and for the offense of not providing assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident and the offense of obstructing evidence, in the case of Dženan Memić's death, took place at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, reports the Patria agency.

Today, Ana Rizvanović, Višnja Seferović, Vehbija Seferović, and Zineta Hadžović appeared as witnesses.

Ana Rizvanović stated that she is Bekrija Seferović's wife and that on the night of February 8, 2016, she was at home in Blažuj with her children. Vasvija (Ljubo's wife) came to her door and said that Ljubo had hit someone with his car. The witness said that Ljubo and Vasvija stayed overnight at her place that night and that Ljubo was drunk and nervous.

- They left in the morning. I didn't see which car they came in - said the witness, adding that Bekrija was not there.

Next to testify was Višnja Seferović, the daughter of the second defendant Bekrija Seferović, who, in a very confused testimony, said that she arrived from Germany on February 8 and her father picked her up at the bus station, and she went home with him.

- It was me, my sister, Vasvija, a man, my children were there. Ljubo arrived very drunk and started yelling at me. I don't know where he went after my father sent him away. He told him to leave and not cause trouble - said Višnja, who added that she didn't know where Ljubo went from there.

She also confirmed that Ljubo was drunk.

When asked by the prosecutor if she knew about the traffic accident, she said she did not.

When asked by lawyer Rusmir Karkin at what time Ljubo arrived at Bekrija's, Višnja said, "it was late, maybe around 10 PM.".

She said she hadn't seen Ljubo since and that she was seeing him for the first time now (in court). When asked by prosecutor Meris Ćato if Ljubo had gone to Germany, Višnja said yes, twice for several months.

The prosecutor also asked if Ljubo had contacted her before she went to Germany, and the witness said he had not. We remind you that witness Bajro Hodžić testified at the trial on December 9 that he knows the second defendant Bekrija Seferović, known as Gigo, and that he asked him to drive Bekrija's daughter to Germany. The witness confirmed that while driving Bekrija's daughter, son-in-law, and their children to Germany, he received a call from Ljubo asking him to drive him to Germany as well when he returned. The witness could not remember the exact period when he drove to Germany and said: In the spring.

When asked how he knew who called him, the witness said: "His sister told me.".

Witness Vehbija Seferović said that on the evening of February 8, he drove a Golf 4 through Velika aleja and saw a young man lying down and the police. He claims it was around 9 PM.

- I met a van that was grass-colored - said the witness, who was going towards Vrelo Bosne.

Lawyer Karkin asked the witness to describe the encounter with the van, and Seferović said that the van was coming from the direction of Vrelo Bosne towards Ilidža.

- Both of its lights were on. It was moving fast, I was going 40 kilometers per hour.

Incidentally, this witness is a close relative of the accused in this case.

The fourth witness was Zineta Hadžović, Vehbija Seferović's mother and the first defendant Ljubo Seferović's aunt.

She said that her son Vehbija came to her on the night of February 8 around 9, half past nine, stayed briefly, and left. Later, he called and said he was stuck with his car and needed help.

She called her sister Beba on Đurđevdan (May 6), Ljubo Seferović's mother, because she wanted to ask when she would return her daughter-in-law. She told her that Ljubo was in Banja Luka.

- I told her, why doesn't Ljubo come to Sarajevo, he didn't kill anyone, and she told me not to call her anymore.

The continuation of the trial is scheduled for January 13.
