(Patria) - Saudin Sivro, on behalf of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of the FBiH - Cantonal Board of the SSOOiO of Sarajevo Canton, sent a statement to the media with the question: Do workers have more reason to trust the Government and the Ministry?
We are transmitting their statement in full.
On Thursday (19.12.2024), at the request of two unions, and regarding the problem of the unresolved status of Hadžiabdić Edina and Rodić Srđan, the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton convened a meeting attended by: the Prime Minister, the presidents of the two unions, the Minister and the Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton.
At that meeting, the relevant Minister did not utter a single word, so it can be concluded that even after four months, she either does not know or does not want to solve the problem!
Our colleagues Edina and Srđan still face many sleepless nights, worries and stress, and all education workers in Sarajevo Canton are asking who is next!
Why should education workers in Sarajevo Canton have more reason to trust the Government and the Ministry of Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton?
Why would young people want to enroll in and complete teaching faculties when they know that after about 20 years of work in education, they will face the same fate as Edina and Srđan?
What kind of Minister is it who asks the Government, and the Government approves, the employment of hundreds of new workers, while at the same time proposing, and the Government adopting, new pedagogical standards due to which long-serving education workers, without retraining or additional qualifications, lose their jobs?
Specifically, the problem with the placement of Hadžiabdić Edina, a member of the SSOOiO FBiH, arose in March this year, immediately after the adoption of the new pedagogical standards and general norms for primary schools, and the refusal of her placement by a decision on worker placement by the Minister of Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton, who, in her characteristic and already familiar manner, interpreted that the said worker could not be placed in another primary school in the position of school librarian because she is unqualified, despite the fact that the said worker is qualified for the said job because she has a permanent employment contract for the position of librarian at the Public Institution Primary School “Izet Šabić” Hotonj for 25 hours per week.
How is it that in one primary school our colleague Edina is qualified, but in all other primary schools she is unqualified, given that the conditions for the said position are the same in all primary schools?
