Dženan Memić Case: Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović Plead Not Guilty

A hearing on the plea of guilt in the Dženan Memić case was held at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, where Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović pleaded not guilty, N1 reports, as carried by the Patria News Agency.

Ljubo Seferović, accused of a serious offense against public traffic safety and the offense of failing to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident, pleaded not guilty. His father, Bekrija Seferović, who is defending himself from freedom, also pleaded not guilty to the offense of obstructing evidence.

The Court will later determine the start date of the trial in this case.

On February 8, 2016, Dženan Memić was walking with his girlfriend in Velika aleja in Ilidža when he sustained injuries, allegedly from being hit by a van driven by Ljubo Seferović. Memić died on February 15, 2016, and since then, his family has been fighting to uncover the truth about this case. The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation in early March for the murder of Dženan Memić by an unknown perpetrator.

However, on August 17, the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office announced that the offense had been reclassified and was no longer considered murder. The Memić family has stated that they will continue their fight for the truth about Dženan Memić's death.
