Slovenian President Pirc-Musar arrives in Sarajevo, opens Jure Franko ski slope on Bjelašnica

(Patria) - Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar is making her first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. She will be in Sarajevo on 8 and 9 February.

On the first day of the visit, a ceremonial welcome with military honours is planned, along with a meeting with members of the BiH Presidency and the President. After the meeting, a press conference will be held.

Given that from 8 to 19 February, the 40th anniversary of the 14th Winter Olympic Games is being marked, Sarajevo is also hosting Slovenian Jure Franko, the silver medalist in the giant slalom at the '84 Winter Olympics, after whom one of the ski slopes on Bjelašnica will be named.

The Olympic Center Bjelašnica has announced the holding of the International Ski Day event on Friday, 9 February, on the occasion of 40 years since the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

Symbolic ski races will be held on Bjelašnica: ski touring, snowshoeing, and alpine skiing. Competitors come from the worlds of diplomacy, sports, and culture, as well as children, ski school participants, who will help them achieve the best possible result.

The Slovenian President, as well as Franko himself, will attend this event and the opening of the "Jure Franko" slope.
