(Patria) - Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon will be in Sarajevo on Monday, where she will have a bilateral meeting with the head of BiH diplomacy Elmedin Konaković, it was announced from the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The main topics of discussion will be Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards the European Union, which Slovenia strongly supports, and the possibilities for increasing cooperation between Slovenia and BiH.
Minister Fajon assessed yesterday's decision of the European Council on opening accession negotiations between BiH and the European Union as a "big day" for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She wrote on X that she is proud of her country, which proposed in 2022 that BiH be granted candidate status. She also stated that she is proud of the people in BiH who deserve a better life in the family of the European Union.
Konaković and Fajon will hold a press conference after their joint meeting at the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Fajon was supposed to come to BiH earlier, but her visit was postponed due to hospitalization.
Otherwise, the Swedish Minister of European Affairs, Jessika Roswall, will also be in BiH on Monday.
