Slovenian Ambassador to UN: All participants in consultations expressed concern over escalation of political crisis in BiH

(Patria) - The UN Security Council yesterday, at the request of Slovenia, held closed-door consultations on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"All members confirmed the importance of the Dayton Peace Agreement, supported the territorial integrity of BiH and its preservation as a multi-ethnic democracy".

This was stated by the Slovenian Ambassador to the UN, Samuel Žbogar, who proposed the consultations on behalf of his country due to concerns about the political situation in BiH.

- All participants in the consultations spoke and expressed concern over the escalation of the political crisis, calling for de-escalation and political dialogue - Žbogar said, STA reports.

According to him, the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is worrying and, as he said, "it is appropriate for the Security Council to take note of it".

- I don't think there is a security crisis in that country, but there is a political crisis, and we mentioned that at the consultations - Žbogar added.
