The picture that went around the world: Anniversary of the death of Nermin Divović (7)

Today at 12:00 PM, in front of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, a memorial to a boy killed during the siege of Sarajevo will be unveiled, organized by the AntiDayton Group, reports the news agency Patria.

Nermin Divović was killed by a sniper's bullet from aggressor positions in the "Metalka" building when he was seven years old, while his mother was seriously wounded by the same bullet. Nermin, then a seven-year-old boy from Sarajevo, was killed on November 18, 1994, by a sniper's bullet in besieged Sarajevo, at a pedestrian crossing between the National Museum and the Faculty of Philosophy. The photograph of the killed Nermin went around the world.

Students of the Fatima Gunić Elementary School from Sarajevo and many citizens of Sarajevo will attend the unveiling. Today is also the anniversary of the death of the late Nermin Divović, and flowers will be laid in his memory.
