(Patria) - Slaven Kovačević, doctor of political science and advisor to the BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić, was a guest on Hayat television today, where he spoke on numerous topics, including the announcement by High Representative Christian Schmidt that he will impose amendments to the Election Law in the area of integrity, as well as the appeal filed against the Kovačević ruling.
"The High Representative clearly considers himself the administrator of BiH. Regarding what he announces he will impose, I must note that the word 'integrity' is very strange. We want fair elections. Is protecting integrity determining the exact number of people on the voter list? Clearly, there are more people on the voter list than living citizens of BiH. What does he mean by integrity? The fairness of the electoral process must be protected. There are several ways to do this. I would start with the voter list. Why do we have more people on the voter list than living people in BiH? This is a disproportion caused by people living outside BiH. Besides getting their teeth fixed, they also get their ID cards when they visit. Nowhere in the world can you have two residences. Some of our people have residences in those countries as well. They can exercise their voting rights in their place of residence," said Kovačević.
The Council of the European Court of Human Rights decided to consider the appeal sent from the BiH Council of Ministers regarding the Kovačević ruling. Kovačević revealed new details.
"I am aware of all the details. This is not an appeal. There is no second instance there. This is not even a review of the ruling. This is a regular procedure. What these self-proclaimed agents sent is not an appeal at all. These were sent by self-proclaimed agents, not the Council of Ministers. The way it was done, 20 days later, during which the Council of Ministers did not express an opinion. The state of BiH had to make an appropriate decision. What Krišto said is unbelievable. Not all 5 judges voted for it. It was presented incorrectly to the public. They copied what the judge from Austria said and sent it as their own. On what do you base your argumentation? Is the Trojka doing something behind my back? Is Minister Hurtić doing something behind my back? I am grateful to Minister Helez, thank you for writing the letter. Are other forces working against me, is the OHR working against me? These are all open questions. I know the answer to each of them. Shame on anyone who does not want a democratic state for this country. Democracy does not live here. There is no argument that the European Court will not accept this," said Kovačević.
He emphasized that Croatia is interfering a lot and that he knows the names of people from the OHR who are on the phone line with Strasbourg regarding the ruling, and that they are thus protecting "their project" in BiH.
"I received information that the self-proclaimed agents had a conversation with the Deputy Minister for Human Rights, and that she gave them full support. That is Duška Jurišić. I have not heard or seen this. If it is true, then I must ask Our Party if it is your position that your Deputy Minister is working to dismantle the Kovačević ruling. If so, say it honestly. This is an effort to accelerate our process of entering modern democratic states," emphasized Kovačević.
