(Patria) - When Christian Schmidt came to Bosnia and Herzegovina, he announced the stabilization of political relations, and on several occasions, he undermined democracy, says Slaven Kovačević at the beginning of his reaction to Schmidt's departure.
"In this regard, he resorted to imposing new electoral rules on the night after the elections were held, and then by imposing a new apartheid system, he filled the entity House of Peoples."
All his activities were carried out in coordination with official Zagreb, which reflects his bias, which should not be the case.
Recently, he even spoke about the need to return democracy by "hearing the true voice of the citizens," when in fact he undermined all of that by fighting against the protection of equal active voting rights, thereby preserving the position of those leaders of ethnic political parties who would replace democracy with ethnocracy.
Precisely because of such actions by Schmidt, we have a constant blockade of the House of Peoples on the scene today.
When it comes to yesterday's UN Security Council session, I consider it a positive fact that it was once again confirmed that the election of the new High Representative will be carried out through the Peace Implementation Council (PIC).
Also, I consider it equally good that the OHR decisions related to the activities of the regime in the RS remain in force.
I hope that the new High Representative, whoever it may be, will work on protecting democracy, the rule of law, and individual civil rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I present this political analysis, as a personal opinion, as a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Kovačević points out.
