Light snow in mountain areas, adjust driving to road conditions

(Patria) - On the second day of 2026, traffic in most of Bosnia and Herzegovina is operating without major delays, but with unstable weather conditions.

Road surfaces are mostly wet or damp, while on highways and in lower areas they are dry in places. Light snow is falling in higher mountain areas, especially on the routes Ripač–Vrtoče, Bosanski Petrovac–Oštrelj–Drvar, Donji Vakuf–Komar–Turbe, Livno–Kupres, and Jablanica–Blidinje, where the snow generally does not accumulate on the road.

Strong winds are hindering driving in the areas of Bihać, Bosanski Petrovac, Ključ, Kladanj, Kalesija, and Banovići.

Road services are on site, cleaning and gritting is being carried out, and traffic conditions are generally good.

Drivers are advised to drive cautiously and adjust their speed to road conditions.

On the main road Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is permitted for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons remains suspended.

Increased traffic of vehicles exiting Bosnia and Herzegovina is observed at the border crossings: Izačić, Velika Kladuša, and Gradiška. At other border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic is experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes.

Tonight until midnight, the transport of explosives is prohibited on the roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Due to passenger registration under the new European Union Entry/Exit System (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
