ZDK Assembly Achieves High Rate of Work Program Realization in 2025

(Patria) - The Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) achieved significant results in its work in 2025, with a high rate of Work Program realization and expressed harmony in cooperation with the ZDK Government, it was highlighted at the end of this working year.

A total of 12 sessions of the ZDK Assembly were held during 2025, including 10 regular sessions, one thematic session dedicated to the state of environmental protection and nature in the ZDK area, and one ceremonial session on the occasion of marking August 29 - ZDK Day.

The ZDK Assembly's Work Program for 2025 planned for the review of 62 acts, of which 35 planned acts were reviewed during the year, representing 56.45 percent realization of the planned part of the Program.

In addition, the Assembly reviewed 45 additional acts that were not foreseen by the Work Program, bringing the total number of reviewed acts to 80, or 129.03 percent realization of the Work Program compared to the plan.

The Speaker of the ZDK Assembly, Ćazim Huskić, emphasized that these indicators confirm the stable and efficient work of the Assembly.

- What characterized the Assembly's work this year is the serious harmony in the work of the legislative and executive authorities, which is clearly reflected through the results in all ZDK sectors.

The Assembly monitored the Government's work, and such a relationship contributed to the improvement of the overall situation in ZDK for the benefit of all citizens - said Huskić.

He stressed that, despite the achieved results, there is room for improvement, especially in the area of legislative activities.

- I am not fully satisfied because this year we did not manage to finalize two important laws - the Law on Weapons and Ammunition, which is of particular interest to the citizens of the Canton, and the Law on Verification of Assets and the Method of Verifying Assets of Public Office Holders.

I expect these laws to be on the Assembly's agenda as early as January or February next year - Huskić stated.

During 2025, the ZDK Assembly passed a series of important laws, decisions, and conclusions, including laws in the fields of nature protection, education, sports, labor, police rights, finance, and budget, as well as decisions of particular importance for the institutional and social development of the Canton.

Finally, Speaker Huskić extended congratulations to the citizens of the Zenica-Doboj Canton on the occasion of the upcoming 2026, wishing them good health, stability, and further prosperity for ZDK and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
