ZDK Assembly supported the publication of a picture book about the horse Srećko

(Patria) - The Deputy Speaker of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Assembly,
Goran Bulajić, hosted a reception today for a representative of the Horse Club
with a mini zoo "Smet" from Zenica, Amer Beganović. The occasion was the picture book and coloring book "Gallop of the Heart – The Story of Srećko", written and illustrated by Belma Skopljak, the publication of which was supported by the ZDK Assembly.

The picture book and coloring book were created in cooperation with the Shelter for Domestic, Wild, and Exotic Animals "Nada – Hope" Zenica and the Horse Club with a mini zoo "Smet" Zenica.

This story is inspired by a real event. A horse named Srećko really exists – he went from neglect to hope thanks to a man who did not give up on him. His struggle today helps others believe that good always finds its way.

The Deputy Speaker of the ZDK Assembly, Goran Bulajić, praised the work of Beganović, his club "Smet", and the association "Nada – Hope". He said that the story of Srećko, an abandoned creature who returned to the flow of life and enjoys movement again, was "translated into a picture book and coloring book in a very charming way". He added that such initiatives, like animation and drawing, should be supported and thus brought closer to preschool and school-aged children so that they can learn about emotions naturally – through reading, watching, and coloring these characters.

– We have realized the picture book and coloring book. The Deputy Speaker of the ZDK Assembly, Goran Bulajić, helped in its realization. The story is about an injured horse that was bought from its then-owner, underwent two surgeries, daily dressings, and therapies, and finally received a prosthesis. The picture book was prepared by Belma Skopljak, a teacher of German language and literature from Žepče – Amer Beganović explained.

The horse Srećko was injured by a lawnmower in mid-June. The then-owner was trying to sell him to meat processors. When he saw what was happening, Beganović paid the requested amount and did everything to save him. Like many horses with injured legs, his fate was uncertain.

Such animals are often euthanized or taken for slaughter, but Amer did not agree to that. From the first moment, he believed in Srećko's recovery and invested enormous effort and care.

Srećko got a chance for a new life thanks to modern 3D printing technology. The project succeeded thanks to the cooperation with Davor Max Vukić, an expert who designed the prosthesis, and the company IZIT from
Croatia, based in Germany, which used 3D printing technology for the first time in the region to create a prosthesis for a horse.
