Canton Sarajevo Assembly Sits on December 30: No Budget, Decision on Interim Financing for Q1 2025 Prepared

(Patria) - Although the Canton Sarajevo Assembly adopted the Draft Budget of Canton Sarajevo for 2025 in late November and sent it to a 15-day public consultation, at the next Assembly session on December 30, deputies will not be presented with a Budget Proposal but rather a decision on interim financing of the needs of Canton Sarajevo for the period from January 1 to March 31, 2025.

As confirmed to Patria, the Budget should be adopted in January, but given the turbulence in the Government of Canton Sarajevo and the parliamentary majority, it is questionable whether the Budget will be adopted even next month, considering the received comments and reshuffling in the Government of Canton Sarajevo. It should not be forgotten that the planned budget of Canton Sarajevo for 2025 is 52 million KM less than in 2024 due to the reduction of the weighting factor.

The agenda also includes numerous items, most of which relate to business reports for 2023. Deputies will consider reports for the companies Park, Toplane-Sarajevo, VIK, Pokop, Sarajevogas, Tržnice-Pijace, PD Butmir, Centar Skenderija for 2022, TVSA for 2023, as well as reports on the work and financial operations of healthcare institutions for 2023, the Health Insurance Institute of Canton Sarajevo, the University Clinical Center Sarajevo and the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš", the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs, the Independent Board, and several other cantonal institutions.
