KS Assembly: Sarajevo's water supply is the only item on the agenda

The KS Assembly is holding an extraordinary session today to discuss Sarajevo's water supply at the initiative of the Eco Action Association, which launched the Sarajevo Water Defense campaign that has been ongoing since September 11th. The session will also consider the Report on KS water supply with proposed measures to resolve the issue, writes Patria agency.

During the past two weeks, campaign organizers and the population of Sarajevo, exclusively through volunteer work and voluntary contributions from participants, collected over 5,000 signatures, thereby exerting concrete political pressure on the authorities to address water rationing and the collapse of the entire water supply system with a satisfactory degree of responsibility and seriousness.

- Through this act of self-organization and collective action, the population of Sarajevo has sent a clear message to the authorities that there can be no division of blame for the catastrophic situation in this case. The city's residents have contributed to solving the problem, to the extent that the restrictive procedures of this canton allow them at all. Those who have both the means and the authority must now intervene decisively and urgently, i.e., the cantonal Assembly and Government - state Eco Action.
