(Patria) - The Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, at the continuation of the Tenth Working Session, adopted a Decision giving consent to the draft Agreement on the transfer of ownership rights with consideration between the Sarajevo Canton and the Cantonal Public Utility Company "Vodovod i kanalizacija" Sarajevo, which will be concluded before a notary between the Sarajevo Canton, as the acquirer, and the Cantonal Public Utility Company "Vodovod i kanalizacija", as the transferor.
The Decision concerns the site and unfinished building whose construction began in the late 1970s with the purpose of housing the administrative building of "Vodovod i kanalizacija" at this location, in Kolodvorska Street, near the former headquarters of "Energoinvest". After initial works, the construction has not been completed for decades.
The Decision adopted today represents one of the first steps that will once again "revitalize" this area in construction terms, through the construction of the long-awaited new building of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton and the Novo Sarajevo Police Administration.
According to the Minister of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, the next steps of the Government, the Ministry and the Institute for Construction involve the demolition of the existing building structure and the initiation of construction of a completely new facility, with an area of approximately 25,000 square meters, with numerous purposes necessary for the optimal functioning of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.
