KS Assembly to Discuss Several Laws Today, as well as Population's Health Status

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The continuation of the 46th working session of the KS Assembly will be held today starting at 10 AM, after last week's continuation was cancelled due to suspected coronavirus cases among several deputies.

Several items remain on the agenda, including deputies' questions, initiatives, and answers to deputies.

The Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Real Estate Transfer Tax and Inheritance and Gift Tax, the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Waters of Sarajevo Canton, and the Draft Law on the Cantonal Agency for Investment Attraction and Privatization will be considered.

Several proposals also remain on the agenda: the Proposal for the Development Strategy of Sarajevo Canton 2021-2027, the Proposal for the Decision on Granting Consent to the Statute on Amendments and Additions to the Statute of the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service; the Proposal for the Decision on Naming a Newly Formed Street in the Nova Otoka Settlement in the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo; the Proposal for the Decision on Naming a Populated Place in the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, the Proposal for the Decision on Establishing the Public Enterprise "Television of Sarajevo Canton" Ltd. Sarajevo, and the Proposal for the Decision on Adopting the "Energy Needs Balance of Sarajevo Canton for 2021".

Deputies will also consider the Study on the Health Status of the Population, Determinants of Health, and Healthcare in Sarajevo Canton in 2020, with the Opinion of the Ministry of Health and proposals for measures to improve the health status of the population in Sarajevo Canton. The study was prepared by the Institute of Public Health, and it lists the main causes of mortality among Sarajevo citizens, the most common diseases, and the increase in the number of diabetes patients. The need for staff renewal, primarily doctors, was also pointed out, as a large number will soon retire.
