KS Assembly today on appointing a new minister of communal affairs

(Patria) - The Assembly of Sarajevo Canton (KS) will hold an emergency session today, starting at 10:00 AM, where Mladen Pandurević is expected to be confirmed as the Minister of Communal Affairs, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection of KS.

He is a non-partisan candidate. Pandurević has been engaged in the Employers' Association of FBiH for years and has extensive work experience.

The position of Minister of Communal Affairs became vacant after the dismissal of the previous minister, Bojan Bošnjak, on March 14, who was arrested on November 15, 2023, for abuse of official position, in connection with the construction of facilities on Bjelašnica carried out by the Municipality of Trnovo.

Bošnjak was released from custody in February, but was given measures prohibiting him from entering the KS Government building and the premises of Naša stranka.

When it comes to this Ministry, it is an extremely complex sector with a larger number of public utility companies. One of the burning issues is also the current situation in KJKP "Vodovod i kanalizacija" (Water and Sewerage), whose accounts are blocked, and employees have not been paid their salaries.

The situation is not much better in some other companies, so Pandurević is coming into a hot seat.

Today's session should also include a decision on a mortgage on the property of a public company, but all details will be known at the session itself.
