(Patria) - UNSA Rector Rifat Škrijelj today also informed UNSA Senate members about the events at the Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studies of UNSA.
"There is no place at UNSA for those who deny genocide and glorify war criminals and declare them heroes. This applies to both employees and students. UNSA is not an institution that will call for public lynching of anyone, but I also call on students to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric. We have many students from RS and they are not to blame for what these two female students have done. UNSA is an open environment where students from all over the world, and especially from BiH, are welcome. We will remain consistent in applying the law and the rule of law. My call to students is to respect each other, love each other and develop relationships with each other for the benefit of all.
I do not wish to comment on the statements from neighboring Serbia that they will receive scholarships and continue their studies, because they come from people in the world of politics. If they are enrolled, then we will consider whether to react towards that university in Belgrade with which we have an agreement and redefine those relations," said Škrijelj.
The Rector said that the University of Sarajevo will never be a place where those who glorify war criminals will feel that they can do so.
"This university was founded by anti-fascists after World War II in 1949, and only a process that supports anti-fascism and the well-being of educating young people can be supported at this university," said Škrijelj.
Dean of FKKSS Jasmin Ahić said that disciplinary proceedings are underway against two female students of the Faculty and that he will not comment further until the proceedings are concluded.
"I don't want to prejudge, but I am sure that the proceedings will be swift and timely and that the decision will be effective. Until the disciplinary proceedings are completed, they cannot be expelled from the Faculty," said Ahić.
He emphasized that these were private profiles of the female students that the media used to report the news, and not official profiles of the Faculty.
The continuation of the disciplinary proceedings is scheduled for next week.
