Shortening of classes due to iftar is populism and causes difficulties for teachers, says SDP MP Samir Avdić

(Patria) - The agreement of the Minister of Education of KS, Naida Hota Muminović (NIP), that classes in primary and secondary schools in KS can be shortened due to iftar has caused mixed reactions. While some support it, others are against it and criticize such a decision, considering that "religion is being brought into schools".

SDP MP Samir Avdić, in a comment on a post about shortening classes, expressed his opinion as an MP in the KS Assembly.

"Shortening classes primarily causes difficulties for teachers, as some of them (depending on the subject) can barely cover the curriculum as it is. This further reduces their working time. That is why I voted against the proposal to shorten classes last time (the second reason is that I recognized populism); this time it wasn't even put to the assembly, but rather a Solomon-like decision: 'let each director individually decide'," Avdić stated.

Comment from an MP in the KS Assembly

However, given that he accused directors of having to "decide" something, we are publishing the letter from Minister Hota-Muminović to the directors of primary and secondary schools in KS, in which she gave her consent for shortening classes.

Incidentally, Samir Avdić did not win a direct mandate in the KS Assembly; he entered instead of Adnan Šteta, who remained Minister of Transport in the KS Government.
