Nature school for children from Konjević Polje

Students from Konjević Polje attending a nature school in Šabići were visited today by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton Elvir Kazazović, along with his associates and the director of the Secondary School of Agriculture, Food, Veterinary and Service Activities, Suad Alić. The school, set in a beautiful natural environment, started yesterday for students from first to fifth grade and will last until November 6th.

According to Minister Kazazović, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton organized this school as part of the regular curriculum for all elementary school students, including the children from Konjević Polje. As he pointed out, the Ministry, in cooperation with the teaching staff, strives to provide students with quality extracurricular activities alongside regular curriculum content from the very beginning of the organization of instructional classes.

- We want to show these children that our role is not just to provide them with basic education, but that it is important for them to be happy and satisfied, and to have good memories from their school days - the minister added.

Currently, 118 elementary school students from Konjević Polje are attending instructional classes under the federal curriculum in Nova Kasaba, because their parents insist on respecting the children's right to attend classes in the Bosnian language, which is unfortunately not provided for them.

- Classes are conducted by 16 primary and secondary school teachers from Sarajevo Canton in premises provided for this purpose by the Riyaset of the Islamic Community. The children are enrolled in the Vladislav Skarić Elementary School, where they also take exams at the end of the school year - stated the coordinator of the instructional teaching project and expert advisor at the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Nihada Čolić.

The nature school program includes various recreational, entertainment, and educational activities for the children, as well as socializing with peers from Sarajevo schools. As a sign of welcome and support for the children from Konjević Polje and their teachers, students from the Secondary School of Agriculture, Food, Veterinary and Service Activities made them a large cake and pastries.
