JUMP IN THE NUMBER OF NEW CASES IN KS 237 new cases in 24 hours

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of KS, 237 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after 1,075 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 152 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Unfortunately, four patients died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 126 patients are hospitalized, of whom 124 have acute infection, while the others have post-covid or are under observation/triage. The proportion of unvaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 84.13 percent.

There are 70 patients being treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and 56 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Eight people are on ventilators, 10 are using non-invasive ventilation, and nine patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,678 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 2,469 people in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 71,574 people infected with coronavirus and 68,229 recovered have been registered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 159, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 264," according to data from the Public Health Institute of KS.

406 patients were examined in the Covid outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom four were transported to hospital treatment.

886 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 481 calls, and 281 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid outpatient clinics.

The Ministry of Health of KS calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
