Scandalous Decision: Most Successful Students Left Without Recognition Only Because They Attend Bosna Sema Schools!?

Organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, a ceremonial award ceremony for the best primary and secondary school students in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 2015/2016 school year will be held on Monday in Mostar, at the Center for Culture, reports the Patria news agency.

Three primary and three secondary school students from each canton were nominated by the cantonal ministries of education, all except the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the West Herzegovina Canton.

Thus, at the ceremony in Mostar, a total of 54 primary and secondary school students will receive diplomas and one-time cash awards, and the recognitions will be presented by the Federal Minister of Education and Science, Elvira Dilberović (SDA), together with the competent cantonal ministers.

At first glance, this is good news in the gloomy political reality of our country. Unfortunately, however, politics has deeply infiltrated this segment of society as well – education, which should be far from political influence. Namely, among the winners, to the surprise of those who regularly follow the progress of young people in BiH and their achievements, the most successful are missing!? Those who have swept world and European competitions in mathematics and physics, brought the brightest medals to BiH, and for whom the anthem of BiH was heard and the flag of BiH flew at prestigious world competitions.

Analyzing the previous situation, awards were mostly given to medal winners at world competitions.

This year, awards are given for the three best students from each canton according to unknown criteria.

The Ministry of Education of the FBiH turned a blind eye to all achievements and did not want to award any recognition to students from Bosna Sema schools, even though they are mostly the winners of world olympiad medals in physics and mathematics.

There was no place on this list even for the young man who won two silver medals at the World Physics Olympiads and has now gone to MIT (prestigious American university) to study. So, politics has gone so far that it does not shy away from the fact that it continues to drive young people out of BiH, because we obviously do not need experts, but in a few years we will be writing about the successes of some of these children, but in America, Sweden, Germany...

Given that Patria has followed every olympiad and regularly reported on the successes of BiH students, we bring the names of those who have amazed the world with their knowledge, but today BiH does not recognize their achievements, and their only sin is that they attended Bosna Sema schools!

Olympians in mathematics and physics, winners of numerous medals at international olympiads, students at top universities in the world: Bahrudin Trbalić, silver at IPhO (top 20 in Europe), MIT; Nermedin Džeković, silver at IPhO (top 20 in Europe), PMF; Salko Zlatko Lagumdžija, bronze at IMO, Brown University; Neira Kurtović, bronze at IMO, University of Oxford; Adisa Bolić, bronze at IMO, 4th grade of the International High School.

The state currently has no better, but politics has decided to stand in the name of its own interests against their knowledge, against their desire to stay in BiH tomorrow and contribute to the development of the country. Who has the right to drive "brains" out of BiH, who has the right, without any criteria, to insult professors, olympians, the future of BiH, just because they want to please politics?

Minister Dilberović, answer the question of how you will stand before Bahrudin, Neira, Adisa and others and explain your move... what is their sin, that you erased them from the list of the deserving... Who are you to deny them recognition, while the world admires their achievements...
