Skaka called on employers to give a day off to parents of first-graders

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - September is always associated with the beginning of a new school year which brings numerous challenges for both children and parents who are often unable to attend the first day of their children's school due to business obligations. This practice should change, said the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka. 

The City of Sarajevo calls on all public and private companies, institutions, ministries, as well as administrative bodies, to allow parents whose children are starting the first grade to see their children off from their homes. All employed parents should be granted paid leave to spend one of the most important days in a child's life with them, which the City, as a responsible employer, supports.

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, wished the first-graders a happy start to school, telling them that a new period of life, the discovery of new knowledge and friends, begins for them from September 1st.

He particularly sent words of support to teachers during this challenging period, emphasizing their responsible and valuable task of transferring their knowledge with love and patience to new generations.
