Skaka: We must approach coronavirus responsibly, Sarajevo is a tourist destination

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka today called on all competent institutions to take necessary precautionary measures in accordance with professional standards, regarding information about the danger of the coronavirus that has appeared in China, but also in Europe.

I appeal that, in addition to necessary and urgent prevention measures, the entire situation be approached very responsibly in order to prevent any possible spread of panic or misinformation. I also call on the media and all those who speak publicly to do so responsibly and based on relevant information - said Skaka.

The media reported that a group of Chinese tourists from the city of Wuhan, where the outbreak occurred, is arriving in Sarajevo.

"We trust our experts and institutions, but at the same time we must keep in mind that citizens are concerned and are demanding a response. The City of Sarajevo is ready to offer any kind of help and support to the authorities to take prevention and protection measures. The capital of BiH is a tourist destination and this should be especially taken into account when approaching such situations," stated Skaka.
