Chopping wood in the forest near Konjic, he broke his spine; brave men from the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) saved him

The unfortunate man broke his spine after gathering firewood three kilometers deep in the forest near the Konjic village of Barmiš with his father and friends on Friday during the day, reports the news agency Patria.

The terrain where the unfortunate man was injured was so inaccessible, steep and muddy that in the end the brave men from the GSS base in Konjic had to intervene. Fortunately, a few hours later the unfortunate young man, in his thirties, was transferred to the local hospital in Konjic, where doctors took over his care.

- We managed to find out that the unfortunate man fell from a tree branch that was three meters above the ground. He suffered severe spinal injuries and practically remained lying motionless until our arrival - confirmed from the GSS for the agency Patria, adding that the unfortunate man's father called the emergency services, and the doctors called the GSS for help because they could not reach the injured person on their own.

This is the second major operation of the GSS in the vicinity of Konjic in the last four days. On Tuesday, the men rescued an injured man who fell from a cliff near Špiljani, writes Patria.
