HJPC SESSION IN TREBINJE Judicial Officials Appointed

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) made decisions on the appointment of judicial officials in BiH during the first day of its session, held on September 30 and October 1, 2020, in Trebinje.

At the level of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Damjan Kaurinović was appointed to the position of President of the Appellate Court of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the following were appointed: Šemsudin Fuško to the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Central Bosnia Canton, Dragan Popović to the position of Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Central Bosnia Canton, Mladen Hrstić to the position of Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of West Herzegovina Canton, Mirjana Stojsavljević-Petraković to the position of Judge of the Municipal Court in Livno, Azra Bojić to the position of Judge of the Municipal Court in Lukavac, Samra Spahić-Drino to the position of Judge of the Municipal Court in Zenica, Selma Omerović to the position of Additional Judge of the Municipal Court in Tuzla, and Alvira Selimović Halilčević to the position of Additional Judge of the Municipal Court in Tuzla.

At the level of Republika Srpska, the following were appointed: Božana Vulić to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska, Dragan Uletilović to the position of Judge of the District Court in Banja Luka, Milica Đurić to the position of Judge of the District Court in Banja Luka, Gordana Stevandić to the position of Judge of the District Court in Banja Luka, Dajana Milićević to the position of Judge of the Basic Court in Šamac, Martin Vukić to the position of Judge of the Basic Court in Šamac, Zorica Stolić to the position of Judge of the Basic Court in Šamac, and Arfan Aboudil to the position of Judge of the Basic Court in Šamac.

When making the Appointment Decision, the HJPC BiH took into account criteria such as professional knowledge, work experience and work results, professional abilities based on past career achievements, the ability to perform duties impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively and responsibly within the scope of the function for which they are applying, relationships with colleagues, behavior outside of work and professional impartiality, and management experience.

Upon appointment, the HJPC BiH applies the relevant constitutional provisions governing the equal rights and representation of constituent peoples and others, and respects the equal representation of genders.

The newly appointed judicial officials will assume their duties on November 1, except for the judges of the Basic Court in Šamac, for whom the date of assuming duties will be determined later.

During the session, the procedure for drawing lots for the national and gender affiliation of future members of the HJPC BiH was also conducted, given that the mandate of six members expires in the coming year, and the Council is obliged to notify the body responsible for their election at least three months before the expiry of each member's mandate and request that the procedure for electing a new member be carried out, it was announced from the HJPC.
