(Patria) - The six-month report on Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session of the United Nations Security Council will not be presented by High Representative Christian Schmidt. The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić, traveled to New York. In the report, Schmidt criticized the policies of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik. The Government of Republika Srpska also sent its version of the report to New York.
Additionally, the session will also request the extension of the EUFOR Althea mission for another year.
In the six-month report on BiH submitted to the UN Security Council, the High Representative states that he has witnessed an unprecedented level of attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement and his mandate, and that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, continues to call for the dissolution of BiH or the peaceful separation of the two entities in BiH, which he presented as his and his party's goal at the SNSD congress.
The Government of Republika Srpska states in its report that Republika Srpska is committed to the Dayton Peace Agreement, which implies dedication to peace and full respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of BiH.
„One step that is indisputably necessary for BiH to become an EU member is the closure of the OHR. Another reform that is clearly needed for BiH to move forward on its EU path is for the judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH to be citizens of BiH, instead of foreign judges forming a decisive bloc,“ the RS Government report states.
