Council of Ministers Session: Blockade (Not) to Be Lifted

(Patria) - The 43rd session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, originally scheduled for July 29 and then postponed by order of Chairman Zoran Tegeltija, will be held today in Sarajevo.

The last session of the BiH Council of Ministers was held on July 22 this year, just one day before Valentin Inzko, the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, imposed amendments to the BiH Criminal Code prohibiting and punishing the denial of genocide.

The cancellation of the Council of Ministers session came after the cancellation of the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the session of the House of Peoples of BiH.

Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija stated that he and ministers from the Republika Srpska will participate in the work of the Council of Ministers and will only make decisions concerning the protection of the health of RS citizens, as well as those that could jeopardize the financial and material position of people employed in BiH institutions.

Ministers from the Bosniak and Croat ranks have so far not made statements about whether they will have any reactions to this behavior of the ministers from SNSD.

Namely, the blockade has not been lifted, as they will prevent any decision concerning the prosperity and reforms necessary for BiH's further progress towards the EU.

The agenda will include as many as 50 items, among them the Proposal for the Reform Program of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2021, with a Proposal for a Decision on the Adoption of the Reform Program of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2021 (ANP), proposed by the Commission for Cooperation with NATO of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The opposition accused Milorad Dodik of agreeing to the unblocking due to concessions made to him regarding the High Representative's address to the UN, and that the entire scenario is actually a pre-election trick by the member of the BiH Presidency.
