(Patria) - A new session of the Economic and Social Council of the FBiH will be held today after the FBiH Government adopted a decision on a minimum wage of 1,000 KM for 2025 on December 30.
At the session, employers will seek a reduction in the burden on wages, primarily contributions, taxes, and other obligations that hinder business operations in the FBiH and its faster development.
Incidentally, this decision by the FBiH Government significantly increases costs for employers who have workers on the minimum wage. In addition to the lowest wage, which has been increased by 381 KM, additional taxes are also applied.
Employers have requested urgent relief for the economy from the Government, and Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić said that a set of fiscal laws will be submitted to the FBiH Parliament in the first quarter.
After information emerged that contributions could be paid on 800 KM of the 1,000 KM minimum wage, Prime Minister Nikšić said that the decision on 1,000 KM remains, and that the situation regarding the reduction of contributions will be considered.
Some members of the ESV pointed out that the FBiH Government violated the obligation to consult with the ESV when making this decision, as it was placed under miscellaneous items, and even members of the FBiH Government were unaware of it. Incidentally, the decision was adopted by a narrow majority of nine votes, with Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak voting against.
Our Party also issued a statement on Sunday, demanding that contributions be paid on 800 KM of the 1,000 KM minimum wage.
