House of Peoples PS BiH session, reduction of delegate benefits rejected

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament will hold its 11th regular session today, where it will consider amendments to the Rules of Procedure related to holding online sessions, which the current Rules of Procedure do not provide for.

Delegates will also consider the request of the Council of Ministers of BiH for the urgent procedure consideration of the Bill on Temporary Measures in the Work of Judicial and Other Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina during a state of natural or other disaster on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with Article 124 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Peoples.

Also on the agenda are the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Misdemeanors (first reading), the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in BiH (first reading), the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Benefits in BiH Institutions (first reading), the Bill on Mandatory Contributions of Officials in BiH Institutions for the Fight Against the COVID-19 Pandemic (first reading), the Bill on Extraordinary Savings Measures in Institutions Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic (first reading).

These bills were considered by the Finance and Budget Committee of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament on Monday, which did not support the principles of the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Benefits in BiH Institutions, proposed by the House of Representatives.

These amendments to the legal solution would limit the severance pay to 12 average salaries in BiH. This would mean the minimum severance pay would remain as before at KM 5,364, but the maximum severance pay would be limited to KM 10,728.

The Committee at today's session also did not support the principles of the bills proposed by the House of Representatives on excise duties in BiH, on mandatory contributions of officials in BiH institutions for the fight against the pandemic, and on extraordinary savings measures in BiH institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
