House of Peoples Session in Question: Disputes over Agenda and Draft Laws

(Patria) - An emergency session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PSBiH) has been scheduled for today, with an extensive agenda.

The proposed agenda includes 27 items, the last three of which relate to the dismissal of SNSD cadres in the executive and legislative authorities.

Among the last items is the request by delegate Marina Pendeš for the urgent consideration of the Draft Law on Amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All preceding agenda items relate to granting consent to several international treaties and agreements.

At this moment, no one can claim with certainty how tomorrow's session will unfold. What is repeated from session to session is the debate over the agenda, given that Collegium member Kemal Ademović (NIP) has claimed for several sessions that he was not consulted and does not agree with the proposed agenda.

Also, eight delegates have repeatedly requested that the House vote on changes to the agenda items, as there is no consensus in the Collegium, but this has been refused by the Speaker Nikola Špirić. For this reason, sessions have been interrupted or delegates whose initiatives were not accepted and who pointed out violations of the Rules of Procedure have left. The same delegates requested that dismissals be considered first, then other items, but this has been skillfully avoided so far.
