Session on October 15: Who is to blame for BiH's stalled EU path, list of investment projects from Reform Agenda requested

(Patria) - On Wednesday, October 15, the 31st emergency session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA will be held, with one item on its agenda: "Continuation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path with a focus on adopting the Reform Agenda for the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans", proposed by MPs: Jasmin Emrić, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Elvisa Hodžić, Aida Baručija, and Nihad Omerović.

Regardless of the fact that the BiH Council of Ministers adopted the Reform Agenda document on September 30, the proposers expect the session to be held.

MP Šemsudin Mehmedović told Patria that he will insist on holding the session.

"It's no longer just about money, but about the stalled EU path of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Mehmedović.

The Reform Agenda document is not known to the general public, nor to most MPs in the House of Representatives of the BiH PA. This document is still being analyzed by European Union institutions, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit BiH next week.

Five MPs stated in their request that they are seeking information about the stalled EU path, and the Initiative for Monitoring EU Integrations of BiH requested this type of discussion from the MPs.

Due to the non-adoption of the Reform Agenda in July, BiH was penalized with a reduction in funds, losing 108 million euros. Although the Reform Agenda was adopted on the last day of the extended deadline, BiH authorities have not yet been informed whether the document meets all conditions for verification, based on which BiH could withdraw funds from the Growth Plan.

This very session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA should provide answers to questions about what projects are planned, what reforms BiH has committed to, and whether this is in line with the European Commission's Opinion.

The presence of the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, all members of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Director of the Directorate for European Integrations has been requested for this session.

A list of investment projects has also been requested, which should be submitted to the House before the session.

It is also known that BiH authorities have not adopted two laws that were explicitly requested by the European Commission, the Law on the HJPC and the Law on Courts (Court of BiH), nor has the chief negotiator been appointed.
