Do you remember ćetenija: A delicacy that gathered friends at gatherings during winter nights

Some families in Bosnia and Herzegovina are again making ćetenija these days - a traditional Bosnian and Herzegovinian dish, a sweet delicacy that is only made during long winter nights, writes the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

The delicacy, made from sugar, water, flour, and lemon, was mostly made in rural households, and less often in cities. During long winter nights, when there wasn't much work in the villages, people gathered for common gatherings where they made ćetenija.

A whole range of customs and rituals had to be respected to "prepare" the delicacy.
