Remembering the first victims of Chetnik crimes

(Patria) - On January twelfth, 1992, the funeral of Abdullah Kovačević, Master of Economics, President of MBO Bijeljina, who was kidnapped on November 29, 1991, and found dead on January 5, 1992, was held in Vražići near Čelić.

Over ten thousand people attended the funeral in Vražići. Among the attendees were Muhamed Filipović, Vice-President of MBO BiH, Irfan Ajanović, member of the SDA Main Board, Abdullah Čelebić, head of the Religious-Educational Service of the Meshihat, who spoke at the funeral. Among the attendees were over thirty imams from the area of the IZ Čelić and Brčko Committees and other places.

Thus, another young life was extinguished. Abdullah Kovačević was a young and promising man, a Master of Economics, with a doctoral dissertation prepared and submitted. A man who dedicated his entire being to his people and to an independent and sovereign BiH.

Unfortunately, the perpetrators who killed this young man have not been discovered. The most widespread assumption among people is that Abdullah was kidnapped, then killed, and then, probably from a helicopter, thrown into the forest, where his lifeless body, full of burns, bruises, and abrasions, was found.

It is clear to everyone that this was a political assassination, which was planned and well-prepared. Abdullah left behind many current articles published in several newspapers, as well as a collection of poems "Golden Rains".
