Remembering March 2, 1992: Ramo and Kenan's Killers Never Found

The first Sarajevo victims of the aggression were Ramo Biber and Kenan Demirović. They were killed on March 2, 1992, writes the Patria News Agency.

Ramo Biber was born in the village of Grivip, Rudo municipality. He lived in the neighborhood of Švrakino Selo. He was an employee of GRAS. He was killed while performing his regular duties of securing the Trebević cable car. On that fateful March 2, 24 years ago, Ramo was at the upper station of the Trebević cable car. He was accompanied by the cable car's engineer, Abdulah Rizvanović.

Around 2 PM, a larger group of unknown armed men surrounded the station, and some tried to enter the facility, demanding that Ramo and Abdulah leave the station and surrender it to them. They were in camouflage uniforms and white overalls.

Ramo and Abdulah then jumped from the station and ran through the bushes and forest along the cable car route towards the city. They were shot at with automatic gunfire. Ramo was found dead near the third pylon of the Trebević cable car. The next day, March 3, the investigation was conducted by employees of the CSB Sarajevo, in cooperation with employees of the CSB Stari Grad, and with a judge from the Basic Court in Sarajevo. To this day, no one has been held accountable for Ramo's death.

On March 2, 1992, Kenan Demirović was also killed at the age of 17. It all happened in an instant. In the evening, Kenan and his cousin Atif went up to a meadow above their house on Kobilja Glava. Automatic rifle fire echoed from the forest. Kenan was killed, and Atif was wounded in the leg.

More than ten thousand people attended Kenan's funeral on March 4, led by the then-Reis Jakub ef. Selimoski. His death has also not been clarified.
