Great program in February at the National Theatre in Mostar

(Patria) - Theatre lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a great program prepared by the National Theatre in Mostar in February.

Already on Friday, 04.02.22, at 8 PM, the play "Hero of the Nation" by Ivan M. Lalić, directed by Goran Damjanac, will be performed on the Main Stage at the NPM. This black comedy, as described by the author and director, deals with the state of mind of an ordinary person through the prism of "hidden" cameras, and as a consequence, the schism within a personality who finds themselves between reality and the realit- a para-reality.

The cast includes: Saša Oručević, Amela Kreso, Fatima Kazazić Obad, Dražen Pavlović, Emir Spahić, and Vedran Vilogorac.

Next Friday, 11.02.22, at 8 PM, the NPM will feature the play "Don't Bet on the English" by Vladimir Đurđević, directed by Emir Spahić. The play addresses one of the burning issues of BiH society – gambling and betting addiction – in an interesting, serious, ironic, and witty manner. Three best friends from childhood – Paun, Piksi, and Bule – are waiting for the outcome of a match that separates them from their desired winnings, and on which all three have bet differently. While waiting, they reveal their fears and hopes, and their dark secrets come to light... Will the result they eagerly await truly change their lives? The play stars: Emir Spahić, Ivan Skoko, and Emir Sejfić.

On Friday, 18.02.22, the play "Alpha Beta" will be performed, based on the text by Ted Whitehead, directed by Saša Oručević. It is an interesting, dynamic, and universal story about human alienation, alienation from oneself and from others. A story about deep intimate fears depicted in the characters of a married couple experiencing their own crises of choices and decisions that shape their lives. By questioning the meaning of marriage, the characters also question the established values associated with marriage, and ask whether our expectations have been deceived? The key question is, how much do we remain ourselves over time, how much are we obliged to remain true to ourselves, and how much to the institution of marriage, and how does this shape us. The play stars Fatima Kazazić and Saša Oručević.

The last Friday of February, 25.02.22, is reserved for the play "Huzur" by Martina Mlinarević, directed by Alma Lapajna, starting at 8 PM on the NPM Main Stage. "Huzur" tells a story about struggle, confronting the most difficult human fears, about freedom and responsibility. The play highlights the importance of disease prevention. An important social theme that is complex, universal, and eternal. All the questions that permeate the play are actually questions that a person asks themselves through the process of building civilization.

The play stars: Ajla Hamzić, Fatima Kazazić Obad, Emir Spahić, Saša Oručević, Goran Lozo, Vedran Vilogorac, Jasmin Krpo, Amela Kreso, and Emir Sejfić. The ticket price is 10 KM, with a discount for pupils, students, and pensioners of 5 KM.
