We are tired of false patriotism and promises that served individuals for personal success

Mr. Admir Gušić, candidate on the Democratic Front-Željko Komšić list for the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, said at the beginning of an interview for the Bosnian news agency Patria that BH society today is visibly deviant, and that there are no moral values that will regulate social relations.

- The politics conducted in these areas has derogated all possible social coherences; we live by the principles of nepotistic self-governance. Sociology in this region is silent because politicking has infected all social segments, therefore the realpolitik I want to revive in BH democracy is the reason for my political engagement - says Gušić.

This 28-year-old is a scholarship holder of the Government of the Republic of Turkey and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Istanbul University. Although he has been given the chance to leave this country, which most young people in BiH are considering, he says he will not give up and will stay here because he believes a change for the better can happen.

He also explains why he chose exactly the Democratic Front-Željko Komšić.

- First of all, the Democratic Front-Željko Komšić appears on the political scene without the burden of bad political decisions; on the other hand, I am here because of the advocacy of social democratic principles, and of course, most importantly, the Democratic Front is currently the only party in the Federation of BiH that has launched a Political Academy whose members are experts from various fields, and I can proudly say that I am its member and that I actively participated in creating the programs and strategies by which the party will operate and steer BiH in the right direction - explains Gušić.

If he receives a mandate as a cantonal representative, he will not offer citizens empty promises, which has become a common political practice in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- In a society dominated by systemic injustice, conformism, nepotism, the idealism of a few families who are in most cases the cause of social deviation, it is difficult to elaborate. We are all saturated with false patriotism and promises that have served as a means of personal socio-economic progress for individuals. Therefore, I do not want nor will I be a person who flaunts promises. What I can offer is the representation of every individual, which, if I gain the trust of citizens, I will revive through an open office for all citizens, and of course, I offer honest and dedicated work, emphasizes Gušić and finally adds:

- In this country, first of all, it is necessary to change the principle of politics, then create a practice of realpolitik that will change the mentality of individuals in this country. The difficult economic situation must not be an excuse for primitivism, arrogance, and subjectivism in the perception of the world. Through the absence of realpolitik, the collective interests of society have been placed on the margins of social existence, and this must and can be changed - said Gušić for NAP.
