Protests are planned across Europe today due to negotiations between the EU and the US on the Free Trade Agreement. The goal of the Agreement is to remove a large number of barriers to bilateral trade.
Opponents of the Agreement are planning demonstrations and protests across Europe today, with a large number of rallies scheduled in Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. In Britain, protests are scheduled in at least 15 cities.
The EU and the US launched free trade negotiations last year with the aim of stimulating additional trade and investment; however, many consider the agreement controversial.
