Široki Brijeg celebrates victory over Sarajevo in derby match

Football players of Široki Brijeg defeated Sarajevo with a score of 2:1 in the derby match of the 19th round of the BH Telecom Premier League. The guests from Sarajevo had the lead, but once again Sarajevo left empty-handed at Pecara.

Široki Brijeg was slightly more concrete in the first half. The hosts were more dangerous and engaged on the field, while Sarajevo was quite disconnected in the midfield with many individual errors.

In the 16th minute of the match, Široki Brijeg scored a goal to take the lead after Luka Menalo put the ball into Bojan Pavlović's net, but the assistant referee signaled an offside position. The first big chance of the match was seen in the 28th minute. Anel Hebibović shot, he beat Luka Bilobrk, but Dino Ćorić reacted on the goal line and saved his team's net. In the 29th minute, there was a break after the home fans showered the field with flares, so referee Elvis Mujić interrupted the match for two minutes.

After the match resumed, Široki Brijeg continued to threaten the guests from Sarajevo. In the 32nd minute of the match, Stjepan Lončar shot, but a Sarajevo player blocked his shot at the last moment, resulting only in a corner for the hosts. In the 40th minute, Luka Menalo had a good chance, but Bojan Pavlović was excellently positioned and stopped his shot. The ball then bounced to Josip Ćorluka's feet, who shot, but not well enough to beat Pavlović.

The continuation of the match also belonged to Široki Brijeg, who threatened as early as the 48th minute when Dino Ćorić shot powerfully, but the ball went just wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, the hosts executed a great action. Dino Ćorić sent a low cross, and Anel Hebibović reacted ahead of Luka Menalo.

In the 64th minute of the match, there was a shock for the hosts! Emir Halilović shot, and the ball ended up in Luka Bilobrk's net for 0:1. However, Sarajevo's lead was short-lived. Just three minutes later, Luka Menalo equalized the score (1:1). In the 77th minute of the game, Emir Halilović created space for himself to shoot, but he shot poorly. Amar Rahmanović had a great chance for Sarajevo in the 80th minute. The Sarajevo attacker bypassed Luka Bilobrk, but then shot over the goal.

A complete turnaround occurred in the 81st minute of the match when Sarajevo's defense fell asleep, and Dino Ćorić hit Bojan Pavlović's net for 2:1. The score did not change until the end of the match.
