SIPA in international operation: One person arrested in Pale, press conference in Milan

(Patria) - Police officers of the investigation team "FAST", of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today (May 22, 2024), in the area of Pale deprived of liberty one person linked to the commission of criminal acts of organized crime, terrorism, bomb attacks, trafficking in weapons and explosives, and money laundering.

The person deprived of liberty has been taken to SIPA premises for criminal processing and will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the legal deadline.

These activities are the result of a broader international operation being conducted today (May 22, 2024) by the competent authorities of the Republic of Italy.

The aim of the operation is to deprive of liberty a total of 17 persons who are members of an organized criminal group consisting of Turkish nationals living abroad and involved in the commission of the aforementioned criminal acts.

The coordinated operation to deprive of liberty involves the competent police bodies of the Republic of Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Bosnia and Herzegovina – specifically police officers of SIPA.

Also, in connection with these activities, a press conference was opened in Milan at 11:00 AM, where the results of the investigation and today's operational action will be presented.
