SIPA searched four more locations: Parts of stolen cars found in East Sarajevo

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today searched facilities at four locations in the area of East Sarajevo as a continuation of the operation against auto theft rings, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Last week, three individuals attempted to steal an expensive BMW car in Ilidža, and after trying to flee, they were stopped by the Sarajevo police. In an exchange of fire, two thieves were wounded.

By order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, four locations were searched then, and today four more, with the support of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton and officers of the East Sarajevo Public Security Center.

The searches of movable and immovable property were conducted with the aim of gathering material evidence that the suspects committed criminal acts under Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina "Organized Crime", in connection with the criminal act under Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina "Smuggling", and Article 287 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina "Aggravated Theft".

During the searches, a larger quantity of parts from disassembled motor vehicles was found and temporarily seized, which are suspected to be items from the criminal act of aggravated theft.
