SIPA discovered and temporarily seized about 230 kg of tobacco

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) yesterday (27.12.2021) in order to document the criminal offense of "Illicit trade in excise goods" from Article 210.a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the search of residential premises and a passenger motor vehicle in the areas of Olovo and Brčko, discovered and temporarily seized about 230 kilograms of cut tobacco, packed in black PVC bags, which was not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to the above, 1,800.00 BAM and 325.00 Euros and three mobile phones were discovered and temporarily seized.

Two persons were deprived of their liberty, who were taken to the premises of SIPA for criminal processing, after which they were questioned as suspects and after the completion of the said actions, they were handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The said activities were carried out on the verbal order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in cooperation with the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
